So my HP Pavillion laptop just went off warrenty and now the system will not load the video driver due to a Code 43 issue as explained by the Device Manager. Device manager tells me that it won't load the driver and therefore I'm stuck with the dreaded 640x480 resolution.
I have a Pavillion 9700 series laptop runing Vista Home Premium with a GeForce 8600m video card. Does anybody know what causes a code 43? Things I've tried: (None of these have worked) * Restoring to a previous know working configuration * Running Memory and Hardware check (Nothing shows up as an issue) * Validated the latest and greatest Video Drivers * Tried to roll back to an earlier version of the video drivers * Disabled the video driver (Vista then detected that I didn't have the drivers loaded and pulled them down and reinstalled them) Unfortunately, I can't find a Code "43" listed anywhere. If anybody knows how to resolve this issue or can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Joe This post has been edited by JRytt: May 5 2009, 04:20 PM |

Hi!
If you have the setting "Remapping memory" in your motherboard bios, and this are enabled? Disable it. For some people the error code 43 appears when having this setting enabled. -------------------- Case: Antec P 180B. modded. 2 x 120mm Noctua fans.
