Hello
I've got a problem with my notebook. Look at these pictures:

1

2

BSOD

And now description from the device manager:

"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."

Actual driver: 7.15.11.5610 from 2007-06-26.

But it doesn't matter whitch drivers I use - there's always the same error and the same problem.

Do u know how to solve it?

Please help me.
Greetings

It could be a heat issue. Try to get a can of compressed air and blow out any dust you see... Then, if you can, check the temperatures in your nvidia control panel for the card. Also, make sure nothing is blocking the vents for your laptop.

also, what model card is in you laptop, and what is the model of the laptop?

^ there's your problem. A LOT of the 8600M GTs had problems (especially macbooks). Check with Compal and see if they will replace it for you...

Hi,

I have an fl90 too with the same geforce 8600m gt card. My card died on me two days ago. The computer was actually just idling when it happened.
It was, however, quite warm in my office that day.

I'm wondering now where I can get hold of a replacement card. When I looked on ebay, vendors often say that they have the card "for Acer" or
"for Fujitsu Siemens". Are there really customized versions of the card so that I need to look for a card for Compal?

Many thanks,
Karl

Hello !

I don't know how you can repair this... but if you want to know why your chips are dying, just read the links inside this page:
http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1...bad-bumps-worse

Good luck.

Thanks for the link! I had seen reports about the issue elsewhere, too.

It's frustrating that the end users are left holding the bag. At this point I'd be happy enough to get
a replacement that I have to pay for. Just so I can get another year or more of use out of my computer.
But so far I haven't gotten any advice on where I can get a replacement and whether I need a special version
for compal or not. The systems builder referred me to compal but those guys haven't gotten back to me.

I'd be interested to hear from the user who started this thread whether he did end up replacing his card and
where he got a replacement.
