I got a 7800GS for christmas to replace my old ATI 9800 XT. I initially used the drivers on the CD that came with the card. They were ~6 months old. I noticed that one of my screen savers had a problem displaying correctly, and it recommended updating the drivers. So I downloaded and installed the latest 93.71 after I un-installed the current drivers.
Everything seems to work fine except for the Control Panel. When I try to access it, my hard drive goes into some access loop for a long time. If I bring up the Task Manager, I noticed that the process "winloggon" is getting pounded on. I let it try to load for 3 minutes and finally gave up by re-booting the pc. Anyone else having this issue? I'm using Windows XP Pro with SP1. |
