yes this can be done on the other hand if ur not overclocking save ur money and get the standard 9800gtx (unless the + is cheaper)
i have an idea if ur overclocking... if ur a newbie then completely disregard this put the 9800 gtx+ in the primary slot and have all the cards at the 9800 gtx+'s speeds. naturally the 3rd and second card in an sli setup have less load than the 1st card in the primary slot thus run cooler etc, even in gpu held back scenarios, and idea of mine is because the other cards are cooler they can overclock higher than normal kinda like a highly overclocked processor, once under 100% load they hang, but seeing as these cards will probably never really see 100% load being the 2nd and 3rd cards. wow....that seems complicated ^ ignore if it u dont understand just an idea of mine i thought i'd share -------------------- My System; I7 Wannabe.

I have bought the 9800GTX+...
It work fine with my two 9800gtx. But the 9800GTX+ must need to plug into first PCI-E 2.0 slot. If not, it will become a ....... 8800GT.... -------------------- C2Q Q6600 (3.18G Mhz)

FYI, both cards will default to the slower card's clocks to it would be pointless to buy a 9800GTX+ if you have a standard GTX.

Yeah, but you can always flash the 2 regular 9800GTX's to the 9800GTX+ clocks and call it a day. I don't know if you have used Nvflash + Nhibitor, but it is fairly easy and can be done in less than 10 minutes. This way all of your clocks will be the same.
Congrats on getting them to SLI though, that is great. I can't wait for the 55nm refresh of the GTX280's, I have my 790i/QX9770 rig ready to go for those babies...I want my TRI-SLI now!!!!! But I won't settle for anything less than the 55nm versions.. ~TJ -------------------- EVGA 790i FTW Digital PWM Edition

I found a serious problem at this combination.
IT can't enable 3-way SLI at Windows XP 64Bit. I unplug the 9800GTX+. I found the the SLI option appear inside the Nvidia Panel. But After I enable the SLI. I get a black screen problem. I reboot many time and also can't boot into Windows. At the end, I need to boot into safe mode and remove all the display driver.... I'm using 177.83, 177.79 and 177389 to try. -------------------- C2Q Q6600 (3.18G Mhz)
