I used to have random hangs+looping sound or even BSOD in every game with my 6600GT MSI card and my SIS BOARD(no FW option availiable) so I tried everything and I found something that at least for once seemed to work without problems.
Well I got Rivatuner, went to power user tab under nvidia/overclocking and set enableperflevelforcing 1 to enable it. Then enable driver-level hardware overclocking tick the allow separate 2d/3d clocks and reboot. Afterwards under the same overclocking tab go to (most important part) Force constant performance level choose Performance 3D. Apply overclocking settings at windows startup option click save and apply. There you go please test these settings and let me know. I use 66.70 forceware beta drivers cause my SiS MB causes artifacts in some of my games even with 67.03,71.20. So SIS users can try them these also gave me the best 3DMARK scores. But be aware they don't have a setup.exe for install so only manual installing for them (I am sure someone would ask) |
