Good morning everyone,
I just had a question as far as SLI is concerned in regards to Bf2. I saw in control settings when i enable SLI under the 3d management controls you have Single GPU, Alternate frame rendering , alternate frame rendering 2 , and Split frame rendering .. Now correct me if im wrong but isnt single Gpu , basically not using the other GPU ??? Ive been trying to get the best frame rates for BF2 so i wanted to know what you guys were using as far as far as my fellow bf2 players . My system specs are as follows: q6600 evga 8800 gtx sli 680i MOBO Windows xp pro x-fi sound card im using the latest nvidia drivers ( at one time i rolled back to i think the 97.94 drivers which was giving me great performance but all of a sudden started loosing out on 10 FPS so i ended up getting the new drivers which than sparked this whole conversation ) |

QUOTE(kajuraelai @ May 30 2007, 01:09 PM) Good morning everyone, I just had a question as far as SLI is concerned in regards to Bf2. My system specs are as follows: q6600 evga 8800 gtx sli 680i MOBO Windows xp pro x-fi sound card im using the latest nvidia drivers ( at one time i rolled back to i think the 97.94 drivers which was giving me great performance but all of a sudden started loosing out on 10 FPS so i ended up getting the new drivers which than sparked this whole conversation ) The way I understand SLi settings is: In the new Nvidia window their is a place to choose "enable SLi" once you have that SLi is basically enabled. Which means that based on the profile present or the global settings one or both of the GPU's will be used. They can be used in any of the 4 modes that you mentioned above. Some games do not agree with dual video card rendering in any form, whereas some might work better with AFR 1 over AFR 2. As Nvidia releases drivers they add in default profiles which then optimizes the SLi settings to the game you are playing based on the games "exe." You have to constantly check the Nvidia driver set on the website as they update the profiles, but not the driver number. The profiles are located in an .xml file in the driver set. Further you can create your own profile based on the settings you choose, and the Nvidia driver will use this profile when the game is launched. If there are no profiles for the game that you are playing then I am assuming it will default to the global settings. Hope this helps. -------------------- ![]() Other: 21" Samsung Syncmaster LCD Monitor, Antec P180 case, Zalman CNPS9700 NT CPU Cooler, Ideazon zBoard Keyboard, Logitech G9 Mouse, Razer eXactMat mouse pad, and Logitech Cordless Freedom 2.4ghz Joystick.
