with the Forceware 100.59 Vista x86
7600GT
Vista Ultimate
Dual core 2 E6300
2gig Dual channel ddr2 memory

The forceware 100.59 are better than the orginal drivers which just hung no BSOD just stopped and need reset.

My issues are COMPLETELY hardware related. You just can't run EPP-enabled 1066 memory in dual channel on this 680i. I've tried two boards and three different sets of memory. Running DDR2 533 in dual channel is working great. Not Vista, not drivers. Hardware.

I have the same issue except it's happenning on the desktop without games, and the only thing different is I don't get any pop-up messages or error messages... WEIRD I SAY as for it being a hardware issue, I don't think so cause I boot to XP and woohoo! Trouble free, I am using a eVGA 8800GTS OC SuperClocked.

Still no responses to this question?

I am experiencing very similar problem.  My system was running fine for about 12 days.  I could play WoW without any problems.  Then suddenly the message starts appearing and I can hardly do anything.  <cut>

Odd, I have got exactly the same. It ran fine since the release of Vista, upto yesterday, things started getting worse after I installed the new nforce4 mobo drivers. Uninstalling, reinstalling, rolling back to safepoint were all to no avail.

Reintalling vista from scratch didnt work either. Cant even log in without it resetting the drivers....

Switching back to xp atm sad.gif

At least when your drivers fail vista recovers. When ever I try to run Vista using any of the nvidia drivers the screen goes black for about 30 seconds then I get the BSOD complaining of a fault in nvlddmkm.sys.

It runs forever using the standard vga driver, but what is the point?

I had the same problem, somehow I've managed to stop it. I'm not sure what ticked it off, but one of the following changes gave immediate result.

First off I installed the latest hyperion drivers for via chipsets. I'm using a lcd monitor together with a projector on the same gfx card (6800), in the nVidia control panel under manage 3D settings I set "Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration" to single display performance mode. After a reboot I've not experienced this problem again - running on 3. day now without seeing it at all, and I have been running the same programs that triggered the driver message earlier on.

On other forums it looks like nVidia cards is far from alone on having this problem. Maybe having more than one monitor/projector installed on the same card is what triggers it?

**edit**

I'm using the beta drivers - 100.59

I hadn't considered that; I'm running two monitors @ 1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz.

thumbup.gif READ ALL THIS MAY HELP YOU!!!

WAS having the same probelms with a GeForce 7950 GT with 512 mb thumbsdown.gif
ASUS M2R32-MVP with 4 gig of ram

I run Cinema 4D and several other 3D programs and every time I tried to use them got the same 'nvlddmkm' display driver error.

I went to the Control Panel and used the Programs and Features option to remove the NVidia Drivers and then let Vista update the drivers itself by going to Windows Update.

I have run and rerun the programs trying to make the error happen again. It has not happened since. Seems that something in the forceware drivers is causing the problem. I tried several different of the forceware versions too. I would install them and test each and then completely remove them and clean them out and try the next following the instructions to the letter and every time I have the same result, whenever I'd open my program and create a new shape and try to move it I'd get an error. Since letting Vista do the update I haven't had a problem.
But here's the rub. You no longer have the Nvidia control panel....what you got is what you got. If you go to the control panel you just get a blank window, but at this point I really do not care, I just want to be able to get back to work.

Hopefully Nvidia will get a grasp on what it is in the forceware that is causing the problem and fix it real soon. I miss having a different background on each monitor, yes both moitors work fine (1280 X 1024). thumbup.gif

To those that say it is a harware issue, let me just say this....everything worked wonderfully before updrading to Vista and the new forceware drivers and now things do not work right....uhm, sounds like a software issue to me. Oh by the way, I didn't need to remove a single memory stick or anything else from my system to get tjhis working either. biggrin.gif

Once again.
1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Select Programs and Features
3. Uninstall 'NVidia Drivers'
4. Restart Windows
5. Run Windows Update and let Vista find the driver for you, it should, it did for me.

Hope this helps everyone.

Cheers, wave.gif
Oth

How many of you posting here are using 2 monitors? Could be interresting to know if that's what causing it.

I have Dual Monitors!

OK, I was having a "nvlddmkm.sys" BSOD just as Vista finished installing but have taken care of that problem by swapping out the drivers Vista installed with drivers from nvidia just before windows completes it's install.

Now the problem is pretty much the same as everyone else is having on this thread. The only difference is that about 30 seconds after Vista starts and my Video driver stops working as well with a black screen. When it recovers I get a message stating that it has recovered but my screen is very garbled and noisy. I can barely read anything. It's happens every time I restart Vista. I've also tried different drivers with the same results, except for the 97.46_forceware driver. It just gave me a BSOD on startup.

System configuration:
MS Vista Ultimate Upgrade. Retail purchase.
Processor: AMD 64bit 4800+ X2
MOBO: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
RAM: 2GB Patriot
Video: one PNY 7800GT SLI
Monitors: Dual ViewSonic VX924 LCD Monitors
Sound: Creative Audoligy

same issue here...nvlddmkm.sys crashes continously. When booting into vista the screen flickers on and off several times before informing me of a problem with the driver and windows had to restart it successully, the pc then works for a while then if i try to access the nvidia control panel or right click on the desktop i get the same flickers only this time either a blue screen or an unexpected reboot.

NV Driver: 97.46 official driver.
MS Vista Home Premium
Core2Duo E6600
Gigabyte GA-965P-S3
2GB Crucual xms
onboard sound
XFX 7900 GS
17" LCD + 32" LCD TV

EDIT: Just to add that I rolled back the driver to the WDDM one that ships with Vista and the crashing still occurred if I right clicked on the desktop (nvidia control panel was still present in the context menu).
I had to uninstall the nvidia drivers using "uninstall programs" from control panel to get back to a usable system!
Note: this resulted in several nvidia dll's not being found at each startup, I simply removed these from the startup tab in "msconfig".

Not exactly a good solution but no more crashes at least until NVidia does something to fix the drivers.

Hey Guys, new to this forum however I am having the same issues;

- Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz
- 2GB Corsair Ram
- 400GB Samsung SATA
- ABIT m/board i975x
- Windows Vista Ultimate (Purchased)

I have tried the 100.59 beta drivers, the 97.46.

I have also tried uninstalling nvidia drivers and allowing windows update to find the ones it needs and using them.

All solutions worked for about half an hour then the problem happened again.

It seems that with the 100.59 the screen goes black then corrects itself. With the previous drivers it would freeze altogether and I would be forced to re-boot manually.

I have emailed nvidia, but this seriously sucks, I purchased vista in hopes it was "the most stable Windows to date" and this is crap.

Anyone found any solutions yet?
