Cant get 3d Vision working... Help

Ok guys hoping you can help,
Bought a Toshiba Qosmio x870 the other day, with a Geforce GTX 670m. When i run Media through Toshiba's preloaded software, i can both upscale 2d to 3d and play 3d Material (Dvd, Blu-ray and some mpeg files). When i Play Skyrim its in 3d. Both times the glasses activate, everything gets a little darker and the 3d runs no problem. The trouble is when i try to either view movies on Youtube, or photos or movies from 3dvisionlive.com, what happens is i get a side by side image, and the glasses never activate.
I have the following driver versions in remove programs:
Nvidia 3d Vision Controller driver 296.16
Nvidia 3d Vision driver 296.31
Nvidia Graphics drive 293.61
I Tried searching for all different driver versions but cannot find anything... Also, when the "Is Your System Ready for YouTube in 3D Vision?" page test my computer i get the following answers:
Internet explorer - Browser version check (Please install the latest version of Firefox from Mozilla) and Hardware check (Your have Both Stereo and Aero Enabled)
Firefox - Browser Version check ( Firefox 4 or above detected) and Hardware check (Your have Both Stereo and Aero Enabled)
so according to the site, through firefox i should be able to watch 3dvision movies and pics, no?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, if you need me to post any more detail let me know, and im sorry if this has been covered, but i could find a solution anywhere on your forums.

Important Drivers Upgrade Instructions

The 3DVisionLive.com 3D photos module requires the use of 'GeForce 3D Vision CD v1.44' or higher (NVIDIA graphics drivers v266.35 or higher AND 3D Vision Controller drivers v266.21 or higher). Make sure that you have these drivers installed on your system if you want to see the 3D photos in 3DVision mode.

If you are upgrading an existing 3D Vision system, then make sure that you upgrade BOTH the GeForce display driver AND the 3D Vision (USB) controller driver as both are needed for proper 3D operation. If you only install the GeForce display driver upgrade then the 3D Vision USB Controller driver will NOT be updated and the versions mismatch will likely create problems.

The easiest way of upgrading your drivers on a 3D Vision systems is to install the "Full Drivers CD for GeForce" or the "Full Drivers CD for Notebook PCs" which contains both the graphics and the 3D Vision Controller drivers.

If you have already installed the graphics drivers upgrade and are looking for the corresponding 3D Vision USB Controller driver, then this can be found in the "3D Vision driver for GeForce" listings in the 'Product' section of the 3D Vision drivers download page.

Note: The R265 drivers are currently in beta. The WHQL version of the drivers should be available very soon (likely next week).

Hopefully this helps!

It's all a freakin' big joke!!!! I've been running this Nvidia 3D Vision/Samsung 2233rz setup since it came out and not once have I managed to successfully view a youtube video in 3D via HTML5. I spent at least 3 hours today trying to get it working, I installed the latest drivers, reinstalled my browser and all other commonly suggested fixes. I've tried everything and I'm at the end of my rope, this is BULL****. Do I have to set myself on fire in Nvidia's headquarters to get this **** fixed? What a god-damned, load of crap. It's PISSING ME OFF. I change the settings to HTML 5, it just reloads in GOD-DAMNED SIDE-By-SIDE, I've followed your instructions to the letter about 60 times today and I'm about ready to carve my own heart out with a spoon!

use 3D Vision Plugin in Silverlight Applications

Hello,

first of all I'm new in this forum and new in development of hompages with Silverlight. Normally I'm used to developed software with C/C++ or C#. At the moment I'm working at the Univeristy in a VR-Lab. Most of the time I work within a CAVE environment. Now we started to set up stereo pairs of 2D images in our CAVE. When I searched the web for stereo images I found the Nvidia 3D Vision Live page and was amazed what is possible with the NVidia technique. We also use that tecnique but only with full screen mode. When we saw this we decided to adopt this technique for our homepage to stream our 3D content.
And there my personal torture begins. I started working with MS Expression Blend to create a Silverlight application/homepage. Further I implemented the Microsoft Media Platform: Player Framework and created a player which is running on a clear webpage. That also works fine (see and try the project on the bottom of this post).
Now I tried to implement the 3D Vision plugin like shown in the manual. And there is the problem, I really cant figure out what to do. I implemented the code in the HTML file and referenced the 3D Vision plugin but nothing changed/happens.

Now my question is there another tutorial or example which shows the complete development process?? I'm really thankfully for every help I can get!
There are a lot of limits right now. It must be in MP4 format, 1 gig max, 5 minutes max, and LEFT eye first. That last is a killer for me. FRAPS records right eye first and I don't know of any way to swap the images after they have been recorded.
Still, it's a good start. Maybe they'll add a few more formats later.

3D videos do not work with certain NVIDIA drivers in Firefox 11

Firefox 11 has a bug where 3D stereoscopic videos do not work with NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology and 3D displays. Instead, you may see a 2D version of the video. This affects the videos at http://www.3dvisionlive.com/ and 3D videos on YouTube when viewed with a 3D set-up.

This bug will be fixed in Firefox 12 which will be released around April 24th. In the meantime, you can use Firefox Aurora now or Firefox Beta after March 23rd. These pre-release versions of Firefox will be able to display 3D videos properly.

Hello,

I would like to know how I can enable stereo mode on my Quadro 4000 card running Fedora 16 64bit.

Research shows I need to add Option "stereo" "3" to the config file. However, when I did this it broke Fedora and I had to replace the file in the recovery console.

I have Nuke installed and wanted to view my work with the NVidia glasses, since everything seems much faster working in Linux compared to Windows 7.

Any advice would he appreciated.
My System is as follows:
20 GB Ram
Quadro 4000 GPU
Win 7 Pro 64bit and Fedora 16 64bit dual boot
Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Asus 27" Monitor with the active shutter glasses
I have a sony F series 3D laptop (VCPF215FDBI). Photos in the Nvidia Photo viewer work in 3D, same with videos in the video player. Games work in 3D. however, I cannot get the 3dlivevision website to work. I am unable to see pictures in 3D, as well as videos in 3D. Everything shows up as side by side, nothing activates the glasses. I have tried every suggestion I could find on forums but nothing has proven effective.

My system specs are as follows:

Windows	Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bit) (Build 7600)
Internet Explorer	8.0.7600.16385
Memory (RAM)	6126 MB
CPU Info	Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
CPU Speed	1995.1 MHz
Sound Card	Speaker/HP (Realtek High Defini
Display Adapters	NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M | NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M | RDPDD Chained DD | RDP Encoder Mirror Driver | RDP Reflector Display Driver
Monitors	1x; Generic PnP Monitor |
Screen Resolution	1920 X 1080 - 32 bit

The driver version is 8.17.12.8562. I had to roll back because even the 3D test applicaiton wasn't working when I had the beta driver.

Please let me know what I should do! Any help is greatly appreciated!

3D Photo Browsing and Sharing Added to 3DVisionLive.com

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce that we now offer support for 3D photos on 3DVisionLive.com.

With the new photo support you can upload, share, rate, and most importantly, enjoy 3D photos over the internet using your preferred PCs web browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox or Chrome). As a photo enthusiast myself, I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as I was by all of the additional detail and realism that 3D photos offer. Previously, the only way to experience 3D photos in a web browser was with anaglyph (red/blue) glasses. Far from ideal.

Now, 3D Vision users can view 3D content in full color at full resolution (using NVIDIA active-shutter 3D Vision glasses). To enable this experience, we’ve teamed up with photo management company Phereo, to help develop the back-end architecture for 3D photo support.

Explore the new photo section and let us know what you think. And don’t forget to set up an account, to begin posting and sharing your own 3D images.

You should also check out some of the new 3D trailers and video clips we’ve added to the 3D Videos section. In addition, we recently partnered up with Fordela, a San Francisco-based Enterprise Video Management company that provides a high-performance video delivery engine, to dramatically increase the amount of high-quality video content we can provide on 3DVisionLive.com, so stay tuned for more updates.

Please note that in order to experience the new 3D photo functionnality you will need to upgrade your GeForce or Quadro graphics drivers to the 266.35 beta release that was posted on NVIDIA.com today.

Also, please note that 3DVisionLive.com 3D content can not be viewed on DLP displays right now because the 3DVision Windowed mode functionnality, which is required to display 3DVisionLice.com content within a browser window, is not currently supported on DLPs.

As always we look forward to your feedback and content submissions. Feel free to reach out to us 3DVisionLive@nvidia.com.

Cheers!

Invalid Authentication provided.

I'm attempting to set up a 3D image area in my website. I've taken the source code from several image pages at photos.3dvisionlive.com and I'm trying to modify the html. Right now the pages still reference the images at 3dvisionlive.com and I get the following error when displaying on my 3D system.

A black rectangle where the image should be and green text, "Invalid Authentication provided. Please contact Nvidia for plugin usage."

Does anyone have an idea what this means? On a non 3D system, this image appears. So I'm thinking the the plugin wants to work but there is some kind of authorization that needs to occur.

Thanks,

Switching between 3d play and 3d vision-issues

So i just picked up a 3dtv (samsung 40" 6 series) and was itching to try out 3dtv play software on it. No real issues with that part of it. I got i dl then installed easy enough, fee for me as i own 3d vision also. The problem i find is that each time I switch back I have to run the wizard again and at times I cant get past the emmiter part in the setup wizard. Once the wizard has gone though the setup im fine to use it but it requires the setup wizard to go to 3dtv play and than again when going back to 3d vision on the pc. Does anyone else have this issue or is it normal.

Just on the off chance anyone is reading this too ill also post my first impressions of 3dtv and of 3dtv play along with 3d bluray movies from my ps3 to my 3dtv.

1. bluray movies on the PS3 are amazing, just as good as at the movies...better in some ways. The clarity is better than what i got from the movie theater, seems to be higher res, like the movie theater is only showing in 720p. This will make you laugh. The tv has 2d-3d conversion, when i watched my first movie id not set the ps3 up for 3d movies so the first run though i was just viewing the 2d-3d conversion and not 3d as it was meant lol. Figured it out soon enough and went to display settings in the ps3 and re-ran the hdmi set up to set up the width of my 3dtv screen size. After that it was mind blowing good. I watched MAGAMIND first and then tonight (with real working 3d) i watched Ice Age which was also amazing. So glad i finally have a 3dtv, so worth it.

2. 3dtv play software....well what can i say, it works but its a letdown in the same breath. No convergence, issues matching up resolution, and the worst is 720p. The low res can be a deal breaker depending on the game. L4D 2 seemed like i was playing on a PSP, so jaggy and ugg. Not very good. Skyrim though, even in 720p was just a wonder to behold. Once working i stepped back onto the couch and looked back at the tv, hard to see any graphical issues or even tell that its running at a lower res than 1080p on my smaller pc screen. BF3 WAS A TRAIN WRECK. The crispness was ok, looked nice that way but the double lights, things at screen depth. Honestly i only tried on lvl to see so there may be some lvls worth repeating using 3dtv.
It should be noted that there is no convergence or addional features which you would be able to use if you were using 3d vision. I do have control over the depth. That is very nice to have as i find i can push depth much farther than the ps3 3d movies allow for.

3. 3dtv.....amazing things those tvs'. Ive not really gotten into all the settings just yet and not much instructions included in the box. My tv will accpet hdmi 3d, dvi 3d but how to do it is a mystery, instuctions dont tell you jack. It would seem i get over/under and L/R options, 2d-3d conversion on the fly but they have not documentaion either. Ill be doing lots of web surfing to find this im sure. Glassed were cheap, 2pair and a movie for $43 bundled, $799 for the tv and another $50 for two hdmi cables that do 15gb/s, one for the pc and one for the ps3. Its all wired to the pc and to the ps3, its a nice little setup IMO. Just a few issues getting my optical line to work coming out of the tv with my xfi sound cards optial in so i can enjoy my 5.1 surrround sound on the pc.

Well tired and going to bed,

PS. Nvidias 3d vision live site was a pretty cool place to visit using a 3dtv and 3d play software. Lots of cool stuff to view over there, amazing popout on the tv looking at some of the pics. Looks alittle low res compaired to my 1080p 3d monitor but from across the room on the tv you cant hardly tell .... just a little grainy.

Silverlight errors, can't watch videos on 3DVision Live

Hi guys,

I have the nVidia 3D Vision kit successfully installed and working with the latest drivers (285.62) on my Windows 7 64-bit PC, and I'm running the GTX 480.

I didn't particularly want to install more programs to make 3D work but installed Silverlight as the site insisted.

The problem is that after installing Silverlight, I can't watch any 3D videos, and I can just about view roughly 3 out of 10 photos that I can click on.

I'm not so much bothered about not being able to see all the 3D photos but I cannot watch any of the videos at all.

I've attached a screenshot of what happens each time I click on a video... please can someone help? I've posted this problem on Silverlight's forum too.

Hi,

Firstly Merry Christmas, having finally got shot of "Monstro", our 50KGs CRT TV (it had to go, the power button wore out - 12 years of use though), I decided to splash on an Samgsung UE46D7000 3D LED TV, Games look awesome, but i'm thinking of buying a 3D Nvidia kit from my local supplier - Running it (the 3D) through either a GTX260 or a GT560 TI - have two PC both with Win7 64 and Q6600's . I think it should be compatable - The TV has a 600hz Refresh and has Active rather than passive side by side stereo. No regrets, its an awesome beast. Got moaned at by a Liverpool fan at work though (because of the Samgsung / Chelsea sponsorship link).

Answers anticipated! Can't wait to play Skyrim in all its glory.... :)

Image Upload / Download Compression

As a test, I uploaded an ultra sharp Full HD 1920x1080 3D image in JPS format. Then I downloaded the uploaded image to view offline, just like someone else would. Once downloaded, the image size has changed. And the image is blurry. I expanded the image to the maximum before selecting "Save image as". My guess is that has been reprocessed and compressed.

Questions:

- Does 3DVisionLive store the original image as uploaded? If not, why not? If the image is large, then it just counts toward the available space, right?
- Is there an option to download the image without having it compressed?

Is there a way to do this already? If not, here's the really issue:

- I want to upload screen-shots to showcase 3D effects of certain games using 3D Vision/3DTV Play to others (friends, etc)
- What kind of message is sent when one downloads a reprocessed/compressed image and looks at a blurry picture?

3D Photos using Silverlight

Hi,

we are developing a solution which runs on Silverlight.
Basically, on one side we have a GPU server that renders HD 3D models,
and on the other side (Client one) we have the Silverlight client that displays
the image from the server.
The user can rotate, pan, roll the camera and for each manipulation, a new image is rendered and
sent from the server to the client.
Since the inner Silverlight video stream decoder has an internal buffer of 5 images,
there is no way to use a video streaming for this kind of stuff. (We talked about it directly with the SL Team)
So my question is : Can we display a static image using the 3DVision Silverlight plug-in ?
Thanks in advance,

Best regards

Hi,

Got a strange one: I can use Firefox 6.0.2 to successfully watch You Tube 3D but I can't use it to watch 3D Vision Live Videos. When doing that, I get an error message as follows:

[IsolatedStorage_Operation]
Debugging resource strings are unavailable. Often the key and arguments provide sufficient information to diagnose the problem. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=106663&version=4.

That said, I can use IE8 to successfully watch 3D Vision Live Videos but not You Tube 3D!!!

What can I do?

Thanks,

Any chance we will ever get 3d thumbnails

So just got a new 3d monitor, an asus-thanks for asking, and i just now remembered how much time is spent transitioning from shot to shot. Any chance we can get the thumbnail pics to show up in 3d. It would really speed things up if you could get a idea of of the 3d effect before clicking on the shot.

Also i know i keep asking but when are we going to get walls to write on in the personal profile pages, its very old school and cold the way its set up right now. Please can we get more interaction with fellow users beyond comments and this forum
